On 11 October 2022, James Cook Academy (JCA) and the Australian Chamber of Commerce, Singapore (AustCham) inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to strengthen cooperation and promote corporate training.
Through the MOU, AustCham will promote JCA and JCA’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Eagle Infotech, as AustCham’s preferred corporate training providers to its members. This collaboration will be promoted through various publicity channels, including publication on AustCham’s website and in its members’ newsletter. AustCham members will receive a mates’ rate equivalent to a 10 per cent discount off the total fee payable for available short courses offered by Eagle Infotech (excluding GST).
Eagle Infotech offers a wide range of short courses in information technology, digital marketing, communication, and more. These courses are designed to support continuing professional development for Singapore’s workforce. AustCham’s members will also have the opportunity to discuss with JCA and Eagle Infotech the development of customised training programmes for their employees at Eagle Infotech’s prevailing course rates.
AustCham Singapore is the peak body representing Australian business in Singapore and is one of the largest Australian business chambers in Asia. James Cook University in Singapore, which established James Cook Academy, is a patron of AustCham. Last year, James Cook University in Singapore received the AustCham President’s Medal for significant contribution to the economic relationship between Australia and Singapore.
At the signing of the MOU, Mr Tristan Perry, AustCham Treasurer said, “AustCham is pleased to partner with James Cook Academy – Eagle Infotech to provide our members with this special corporate training opportunity as part of our commitment to helping our members achieve business success.”
Mr Andrew Chew, Chief Executive Officer of James Cook Academy and Chairman of Eagle Infotech, said, “James Cook Academy is a supporter of lifelong learning, and we are glad to be acknowledged by AustCham as their preferred corporate training provider. We hope that this initiative, alongside our wide range of short courses, will encourage upskilling and reskilling. Amidst our evolving landscape, it is important that we invest in employees so that they are empowered to be vehicles of positive change and innovation.”
