James Cook Academy signs MOU with Singapore National Employers Federation to develop green economy sustainability and executive training programmes

The collaboration between James Cook Academy and Singapore National Employers Federation aims to support workforces in understanding and adapting to the Green Economy, and to support the Singapore Green Plan 2030.

James Cook Academy and Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) today signed a Memorandum of Understanding to work together in various areas including the development of executive training programs. The objective of the collaboration is also to develop workshops that support workforces in understanding and adapting to the Green Economy, and to support the Singapore Green Plan 2030. The short courses will be delivered by James Cook Academy’s wholly-owned subsidiary Eagle Infotech or affiliates.

The Singapore Green Plan 2030 outlines a “whole-of-nation movement to advance Singapore’s national agenda on sustainable development”. As a multi-agency initiative, the Plan provides a blueprint to achieve Singapore’s long-term net-zero emissions aspiration, with targets to reduce the carbon footprint and adapt to the impacts of climate change. The Plan also sets out new opportunities in the Green Economy across infrastructure, cleaner energy, and research and innovation.

Mr Andrew Chew, Chief Executive Officer of James Cook Academy and Chairman of Eagle Infotech said, “We look forward to working closely with SNEF to develop training programmes that support local enterprises in leveraging sustainability opportunities in our region, and support their transition to a green, low-carbon and resilient workplace. James Cook Academy’s acquisition of training provider Eagle Infotech further provides a platform for programme delivery.”

Mr Stephen Yee, Deputy Executive Director, Corporate Learning Centre and Workforce Transformation, SNEF commented, “Singapore’s employers need access to programmes to help them understand and adopt sustainable business practices, solutions and standards. Working with James Cook Academy and Eagle Infotech, we will train business and operations executives in acquiring the skills and adopt fit for purpose practices and how to take advantage of new business opportunities in the Green Economy.”
