Job Summary

As a Finance Intern (Invoicing and Grant Management) at JCI, you will be an integral part of our finance team, responsible for assisting with invoicing processes, managing grant funding, and maintaining accurate financial records. This internship program is designed to provide you with practical exposure to finance operations in the adult learning industry, allowing you to develop skills in financial management and administration while contributing to the financial success of our organization.

Role & Responsibilities

Invoicing and Billing Support:

  • Assist in the preparation and processing of invoices for training programs and services provided.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure accurate and timely invoicing of clients.
  • Track invoice status and follow up on payments as needed.

Grant Management:

  • Support the finance team in managing grant funding from various sources.
  • Assist in tracking grant budgets, expenses, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
  • Prepare financial reports for grant funding agencies.

Financial Recordkeeping:

  • Maintain accurate financial records, including invoices, receipts, and payment details.
  • Assist in data entry and bookkeeping tasks to ensure up-to-date financial information.

Budget Monitoring:

  • Collaborate with the finance team to monitor budget utilization for training programs and projects.
  • Assist in analyzing budget variances and identifying cost-saving opportunities.

Financial Reporting:

  • Assist in preparing financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the preparation of month-end and year-end financial reports.

Compliance and Auditing:

  • Support the finance team in ensuring compliance with financial regulations and policies.
  • Assist in the preparation for financial audits and provide documentation as required.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify areas for process improvement within the finance department.
  • Assist in implementing streamlined and efficient financial procedures.

Requirements:

  • Current enrollment in a Diploma program, preferably in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Basic understanding of financial principles, accounting concepts, and budget management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Interest in the adult learning industry and a desire to contribute to its financial success.

Internship duration can be between 12 weeks to 20 weeks. Interns will be compensated with a competitive stipend, depending on education qualifications. Conversion to permanent position will be considered.
