SkillsFuture Credit

What is SkillsFuture Credit?

SkillsFuture Credit (SFC) empowers Singaporeans to take charge of their skills development and lifelong learning. Since January 2016, all Singaporeans aged 25 and above have received an initial S$500 credit, with periodic top-ups to support continued learning. These credits can be applied to approved skills-related courses, covering out-of-pocket expenses and complementing existing government subsidies.

SKILLSFUTURE CREDIT AMOUNT

All Singaporeans aged 25 years and above

  • All Singaporeans aged 25 and above will receive an opening SkillsFuture Credit of $500 . The opening credit will not expire and individuals can use their credit for SFC eligble courses.
  • Additional Top-Up: A one-off top-up of S$500, valid until 31 Dec 2025.

All Singaporeans who are 40 to 60 years in 2020

  • Special Credit: An additional one-time credit of S$500, valid until 31 Dec 2025
  • Claimable for (i) SGUnited Skills Programme, (ii) SSGUnited Mid-Career Pathways Programme – Company Training, and (iii) SkillsFuture Career Transition Programmes, courses delivered by SSG-appointed CET centers, courses that fulfil training requirements for Progressive Wage Model sectors, and Full qualification programmes delivered by Institutes of Higher Learning

SKILLSFUTURE SUBIDY - UP TO 70% UPFRONT FUNDING SUPPORT

Claim Process

Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents can enjoy an upfront SkillsFuture subsidy of up to 70% on courses offered by SSG-appointed Training Providers and CET Centres.

  1. Complete the online registration form for your chosen course.
  2. Receive an invoice for the course fee from James Cook Institute
  3. Use the invoice to offset course fees with your SkillsFuture Credits on the MySkillsFuture portal
  4. Any remaining balance can be paid directly to James Cook Institute.
 

For WSQ-accredited courses at James Cook Institute, trainees qualify for the SSG training grant by meeting a minimum of 75% attendance and successfully passing the required assessment.

  • Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) – If you’re under 30 and have unused funds in your PSEA, you can use these to offset SkillsFuture course fees. Any remaining PSEA balance will be transferred to your CPF account when you turn 30. Check your PSEA balance here.

  • NTUC UTAP – NTUC UTAP members have up to 50% unfunded course fee support, capped at $250 each year, for courses supported by UTAP. This excludes miscellaneous fees such as GST and registration fee etc

Singaporeans aged 25 and above can use their SkillsFuture Credits to cover any remaining fees after funding has been applied.
